Christian life, in Church and out is one. What we do in church is reflected in our lives. So as we experience God's care for us in prayer and worship, we reflect this in our lives.
How do we care for one another? Well first we pray! Our weekly pew sheet has room for anyone who is in need of prayer. If you have a prayer request, use the Contact link here to send a message about someone you'd like us to pray for.
We also have a prayer chain which invites a group of members to pass on the needs of someone who has asked for help. To 'activate' the prayer chain contact Marida Pawsey .
St. John's parish is active in care in the community too. We work closely with the Berry Street organisation in the provision of food relief. On a wider front, St. John's supports the work of Anglicare statewide through our Christmas 'Giving Tree' and regular donations.
Doing Justice is also about resisting evil. There is much that goes on 'in the background', like inhuman working hours or conditions that prevent us from being truly human. Irrational prejudice against other races or religions is an example of a 'structural evil,' and so is shutting out people with disabilities from services that the rest of the community takes for granted.
Christians shine a light into these places, so that they can be seen for their 'beastly' (i.e. inhuman) nature.
Where we have the chance in our local area, Christians in Alexandra try to make it a world that is fit for human beings to live in with God.

Justice brings light to hidden forces of inhumanity
